I will post some of my trip reports and photos here for posterity and use by others in planning their own trips. However, there will be quite a lot of gaps for two reasons: I don’t want to contribute to the degradation by overuse of the really pristine and wild areas, which are extremely rare on the east coast of the US, and somewhat selfishly, there are still a few places I can go for peace and quiet even for just a weekend…I’ll keep those off the net and only recommend on an individual basis.
September 2017 – Shining Rock Wilderness – Annual trip a week after Hurricane Irma passed through the area.
August 2017 – Dolly Sods Wilderness – My wife and I got out for a short trip during the eclipse for some (briefly) cool hiking.
June 2017 – Acadia Nat. Park & White Mountains – a great anniversary week with my lovely wife camping and backpacking
June 2017 – Grayson Highlands & Mt Rogers – After a 2 month layoff with back and nerve pain I got under pack again!
