For when you’re not on the trail, or enjoying a beverage with a good view…here are some of my favorite sites.
A great site for gear reviews (where I post all mine) and an incredible online community of experienced folks who treat novice and seasoned folks alike with respect. My favorite little corner of the internet. Hanging out here led me to going further and creating this blog…to supplement but not compete with this great site.
I like Chris’ books on backpacking and long distance walking and have enjoyed his blog for years. Living vicariously in my homeland through his frequent postings on hikes in the highlands of Scotland.
I recently started tracking this blog as he updates on a regular basis and has a great deal of experience and good advice. Detailed trip reports from the northeast mostly. Very responsive to questions when I was planning a White Mountains trip.
This has several good gear and clothing lists for those having trouble getting their own. He also has some dinner and food suggestions that are similar to my tastes. Lots of good resources listed.
This is a blog from a fellow Trailspace member, LoneStranger. Infrequent updates like me rather than a daily blog, but you get some fantastic photos of the White Mountains and well written reports that make you think and reflect.
Many more to come as I think of them…
